Description
Richard Rohr writes, “Much of the Christian religion has become ‘holding on’ instead of letting go. But, God does the holding on (to us!), and we must learn the letting go.” Rohr is right: embracing change and releasing control are things we may resist, but realities nonetheless. This curriculum helps groups process change by remembering God’s love that’s unchanging. Before Isaiah declares God is “about to do a new thing,” he says: “when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.” We learn to let go by first learning we are held on to eternally. Guided by God’s promises in Isaiah 43, this curriculum uses creativity, movement, and conversation to practice letting go, making room, and trusting in the God who holds us through it all.
