Our Story

The Grace Lab started in 2020 to design and facilitate retreats for faith communities during the pandemic. With a focus on God’s presence in ordinary life and opportunities to create rhythms of grace in the everyday, these virtual retreats were met with wide enthusiasm by faith leaders and retreat attendees alike. When churches began returning to in-person gatherings, Grace Lab offerings expanded to in-person, as well, creating more opportunities to support pastors in strengthening their congregation’s faith formation and even enriching their own. Since its founding, the Grace Lab has designed custom curriculum and facilitated gatherings for weekend women’s retreats, adult formation classes, sermon series, church-wide and staff-centered retreats, youth retreats, and more. Though varied in theme, Grace Lab retreats are known for their thoughtful research, contemplative approach, honest and engaging material, and creative facilitation. In 2024, the Grace Lab expanded its offerings further, with an exciting addition: making accessible the custom, creative, and cherished curriculum for faith leaders to use in their own contexts. While still facilitate retreats for groups throughout the Washington, DC Metro Area, today, the Grace Lab especially values coming alongside leaders with curriculum and resources for their own communities.
